A miniature sub-surface tube fly
Blue Charm – Micro sub-surface tube-fly
A superb classic Salmon fly pattern turned into a miniature sub-surface tube-fly
The perfect choice for many Scottish and Scandinavian rivers during warm and dry conditions. Fished just below the surface on a fine leader – Tied in the right colors for June, July, and August. A must have fly for any angler pursuing summer salmon.
This one tied on an extra thin tube (1.1 millimeters) so not a tube that readily will accommodate a hook inside the tube…We tie on the hook trailing behind the fly – and if possible we pull the knot inside the tubing. If you use the Partridge Salmon Stinger # 18 treble…You will be able to pull the hook into the tubing.
This is indeed a miniature salmon fly – never the less a fly that you probably will use more than one time during the salmon or steelhead season at 10 mm (0,39 inch) body- equivalent in length to a # 14 – 16 hook… But then again, it is a difficult fly to compare to a fly tied on a hook…but very small
Probably the best hitch tubing – ever made…
We think we have the right to brag… when we say the best tubing ever made. All other tubing found in fly tying shops could not live up to our expectation. Together with a chemical engineer we developed a new PVC-free plastic formula for the solemn purpose of producing a tube for riffling hitch.
- It will withstand a lot of mechanical wear
- Very low memory – This will ensure that the tube fall back into place after use (hook removed)
- Will work in a wide range of temperatures including frost cold days.
This is the same tube we use for our wake flies and other bigger tube flies. See the tube in our shop
